My inspiration for "Flatirons Symphony" came from the distinctive Flatirons in Boulder, CO, near where I live. I wanted to create this piece with dramatic lighting. I worked from my personally taken photograph to get the shapes and perspective right, but used my imagination in creating the clouds, weather and colorful lighting in the scene. I used textile paints to enhance the image and increase the visual depth.
